IEC Compliant Measurement of Power Quality (Harmonics, Flicker and Unbalance)

The purpose of the Power Quality Measurement (PQM) project is to measure three-phase voltages and currents at a given Point Of Interest (POI) so as to analyse the harmonics, flicker and unbalance according to the IEC standards.

We have started test-runs of the PQM data capture and power quality analysis at a few HV/MV substations and HV switching station of a distribution network service provider in Australia.
If any High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV) or Low Voltage (LV) network service provider or customer is interested, contact us for an IEC-based assessment of your supply power quality.

Harmonic Modeling For Network Service Providers

We provide a comprehensive harmonic modelling service for network service providers. From a harmonic model one may obtain the theoretical value for the harmonic impedance at a given Point Of Investigation. This is simply the Thevenin equivalent impedance of the power system at a specific harmonic frequency.

The value of harmonic impedance allows one to evaluate harmonic voltage emissions in cases where the expected harmonic current contributions are known in advance. Moreover, the harmonic impedance value is used for designing harmonic filters.

Harmonic Modeling For Customers

We provide a service for assessing the harmonic emission of a customer against emission limits provided by the network service provider.
